Hunt for a Nova - Part 2

Nova Status

No new activity as far as I can tell. I am getting more anxious each day and worry that I will miss the initial explosion due to clouds, sleeping, day light, etc.

Picture Status

I have been snapping pictures of T CrB over the last several nights, trying to figure out the optimal settings for my rig.

City light pollution is terrrrrible. I have the opportunity to snap photos from Bortle 4 skies somewhat regularly, but also am stuck with Bortle 8 skies most nights. How big of a difference does that make? See below.

Both photos were taken with the same camera of the same spot in the sky. 70mm, ISO 3200, 4 second shutter, F/2.8 - unedited.

The difference in my location is a bit of an obstacle for my ultimate goals. It will also mean that I need to take more photos each night to stack together and edit which can be tedious if I plan to get one good photo each night. Also, I might need to lower the shutter speed to 2 seconds as I can start to elongated stars when I zoom in (the bugs me a lot).

Wishing everyone clear skies!
